You just finished your first session, or it is coming up soon, and the real questions are not in the brochures: "Can I drive? Go back to work? Work out? Is it normal if it tingles?"
Here is exactly what the manufacturer's patient documentation says, in plain language. Short version: you go right back to your day, there are three or four easy rules for the first 24 hours, and the possible side effects are rare and generally benign.
What you might feel after the session
During the session you feel tingling followed by deep pelvic floor contractions. Afterwards, the most common sensation is the one you know from a good workout: muscles that have worked, mild muscle fatigue in the pelvic region, occasionally minor diffuse soreness (rare, but possible).
Some people also notice a temporary increase in how often they need to urinate in the 24 to 48 hours after a session. It is documented, expected and short-lived. If it lasts longer, or anything worries you, call - that is exactly the kind of question the pharmacy team takes seriously.
Possible side effects (rare, and generally benign)
The manufacturer's post-treatment card lists them in black and white, so we do too:
- a temporary sensation of tingling or numbness in the pelvic area;
- a sensation of warmth or throbbing in the perineum;
- gentle skin irritation if there was friction (tight clothing during the session);
- a temporary increase in urination frequency within 24 to 48 hours.
The first-24-hours rules
No downtime: you return to your normal activities immediately, driving and work included. The manufacturer simply recommends:
- stay well-hydrated for the rest of the day;
- wear comfortable clothing;
- avoid intense heat sources (hot tubs, saunas) for several hours;
- avoid intense pelvic floor exercises (like a big set of Kegels) for 24 hours - your muscles just did the equivalent of about 11,200 contractions.
And the results?
The manufacturer's documentation notes that a temporary or gradual improvement in symptoms may be felt as early as the first few sessions. For most people, the effects build progressively over the course (usually 6 sessions). No result is guaranteed, and that is exactly what the follow-up with the pharmacy team is for: an honest read, session after session.
Between sessions, Kegel exercises keep their full place (after the 24-hour window): the chair provides the training volume, your own exercises keep the habit alive.
